Amazing footage shows how a rainbow shines and lightning flashes at the same time.

The perfect storm formed over Hollister California this week it produced a rainbow and flashes of light at the same time.

Storm Chaser William Justo. who caught the electrifying show on Wednesday told DailyMail.com: I was chasing a stationary storm zone in Hollister, Calif., around sunset, and it just so happened that a rainbow appeared inside the storm.

‘I just used mine iphone +8 Plus I was hoping to catch a bolt with a rainbow and it happened in a minute.”

The footage shows an ominous sky with shades of dark purple and blue hanging over the open countryside.

As a magnificent rainbow emerges from dark clouds, bright flashes of lightning shoot from above, according to a video posted on plot.

This week, a perfect storm formed over Hollister, California, causing rainbows and flashes of lightning at the same time.

“I have seen many photos and videos online of lightning and rainbow together and I have always dreamed of seeing it in person and I finally saw it with my own eyes,” Giusto told DailyMail.com.

“It was a surreal experience, full of excitement and an indescribable adrenaline rush.”

Lightning often occurs during severe storms, while rainbows usually form after the rain has stopped, making display in the sky a rarely seen sight.

Rainbow lightning is rare because the likelihood of lightning striking near a rainbow is low, explains Randall Cerveny, professor of meteorology at Arizona State University at Tempe.

Storm chaser William Justo filmed the rousing show on Wednesday night using only his smartphone and Nikon camera.

“Usually those two things don’t go together at the same time,” he said in 2015. living science a piece.

Both use raindrops in different ways, with rainbows using them to scatter sunlight. Lightning, on the other hand, can be created when raindrops transfer electrical charges.

But to capture both at the same time, it has to rain with enough sunlight to form a rainbow while the lightning still hisses.

People must stand between the sun and the storm at the very moment when the sun’s rays fall on the raindrops and electric charges create lightning.

The rare weather event was captured earlier in November 2020 by another storm chaser, Jake Heitmann, over Idaho’s Lewiston-Clarkson Valley.

Social media users called the sight a “wonder of mother nature” and said it was “beautiful and scary” at the same time.

A similar incident happened in Oklahoma. Stormchaser Jake Heitman told Storyful that he captured the incredible moment on Tuesday near Tulsa.

“I broke through the storm and went to the back of it to find this amazing rainbow!” Geitman said.

Footage of the spectacle shows a rainbow clouded by the evening sky as lightning crackles overhead.

Lightning can be seen at least three times throughout the video.

Heitman said he took the unusual photo just seconds after he started recording.

“I set up my cameras and within 30 seconds of starting recording, a beautiful web of lightning shot across the sky,” he said.

What shocked him the most was how the lightning struck from the middle of the rainbow.

“I have never seen anything like it before, a rainbow with lightning appearing at the center of the rainbow! As good as it gets! Heitman said.
