The winners of this year’s “Oscar of Watchmaking” have been selected, including a large number of watches recognized for their technical excellence and attractive design.
The top prize for the best watch in the world, the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix, was awarded to the Chronomètre Ferdinand Berthoud FB 1 by Ferdinand Berthoud.
Sold in excess of $200,000, this white gold and titanium limited edition watch features a leather strap and a hand-wound movement with over 1,120 components.
The public prize, chosen by voting submitted online and at selected international watch fairs, was awarded to the watch 33 bis Quai des Bergues by Czapek Genève.
Watches from the brands Audemars Piguet, Montblanc, MB&F, Piaget, TAG Heuer and Tudor, as well as Chanel, Eberhard & Co, Fabergé and Grönefeld were also honored by the 27-member international jury this year.
