Elon Musk ‘beats the drum’ and warns Japan could ‘disappear’ after population declines by 600,000

Elon Musk says he is “beating the baby drum” and warns that we may be like Japan, whose population has fallen by 600,000, and adds that the country will “disappear” if trends continue.

Elon Musk said he had been “banging on a kid’s drum” for a while, and warned that the US could face a fate similar to Japanunless falling birth rates improve.

Japan’s population shrank by more than 600,000 last year due to a declining birth rate and a rapidly aging population.

“The current trend is not good. “The number of people is not trending,” Musk said.

“Japan is a leading indicator. They lost 600,000 last year,” he continued.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the country’s population has declined for the eleventh year in a row and has fallen by 644,000 people.

The total population declined as deaths exceeded births by 609,000 and the number of people leaving the country exceeded those entering by 35,000.

Official data also showed that the proportion of people aged 15 to 64 was at an all-time low of 59.4 percent, while the proportion of those aged 65 and over reached an all-time high of 28.9 percent.

“If this trend continues, Japan will completely disappear,” Musk warned. “I hope it’s not.”

“China will also have problems,” the SpaceX founder said, noting that the country’s policy on controlling family size.

“Many people are under the impression that the current number of people on the planet is unsustainable,” Musk said.

Musk also said that as society becomes wealthier and less religious, couples are having fewer children.
