Covid-19 update: 64 hospitalizations recorded in last 24 hours



As of Tuesday 14 June, the total number of detected cases of Covid-19 in South Africa is 3,979,836, with 710 new cases.

According to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, this accounts for 6.8% of positive results.NICD) confirmed.

Fourty one COVID-19 Related deaths were reported, 10 of which occurred in the last 24–48 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 101,550.

There have been 64 hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries is 3,858,949 with a 97% recovery rate. South Africa currently has 19,337 active cases.

A total of 25,515,180 tests have been carried out to date in both the public and private sectors.

As of June 14, the total number of vaccines introduced in the country is 36,522,914.

Provincial breakdown

The majority of new Covid-19 cases have occurred in Gauteng (291), followed by the Western Cape (137) and KwaZulu-Natal (93).

This is followed by the Eastern Cape (63), while the North West and Mpumalanga have 35 and 34 new cases, respectively.

The Free State has 24 cases, followed by the Northern Cape (16) and Limpopo (17), which recorded the lowest daily cases.
