Obi-Wan Kenobi stars hope to return for season 2

OUR six-episode limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi was completed on Disney+ last week, but there have been questions about whether there will be a second season.

One of the stars supporting the debate is series host Ewan McGregor, who admitted he’s looking forward to the possibility of a second season.

“I really hope that we will do another one,” McGregor is quoted by the British publication. GQ in an interview before the final aired.

Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader on the show, shares a similar sentiment.

“Well, it was definitely meant to be a separate story. But I would love to continue with this character,” Christensen told Radio Times.

“You know, I think there’s definitely a lot to explore out there and I’d be so happy to do it. I would certainly be ready to return.”

While the main characters of the limited series are open about their desire to return, the situation is different with the creative team.

Deborah Chow, the director of the series, explained that Obi-Wan Kenobi was conceived with a beginning, a middle, and an end, and they didn’t think beyond that.

“I think you know, if this was to continue, it would only be if there was a real reason for the other,” Chow added.

president of Lucasfilm and Obi-Wan Kenobi executive producer Kathleen Kennedy agreed with Chow.

“Well, to be honest, we were going to make it a limited edition. But I think if there’s a huge commitment and people really want more Obi-Wan, we’ll definitely take that into account.”
