Teenager accidentally shot dead in Jefferson County

BIRNS MILL, Missouri. (KMOV) – A 16-year-old boy was shot to death in Byrnes Mill, Missouri. late Saturday evening.

Authorities say the shooting took place in a mobile home on the 3500 block of West Fork Drive. Police told News 4 that they were later called to a gas station on Highway PP and Highway 30 just after midnight on Sunday, where a group of mostly teenagers informed them that someone had shot at their car. The victim was shot in the head and died in the hospital. Police later determined that the teenager had been shot by accident.

The suspect, a minor, is in custody.
