Silverstone, England – Lewis Hamilton called on Formula 1 to stop giving the platform to the old sports guard after retired three-time world champion Nelson Piquet and 91-year-old former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone were recently criticized for making offensive comments.
Piqué, 69, apologized to seven-time world champion Hamilton this week for making offensive racist remarks about the Briton in comments to a November interview that recently surfaced. Ecclestone, meanwhile, defended Russian President Vladimir Putin as someone he would “take a bullet” for during a TV interview on Thursday.
