2022 Genesis GV60 Electric SUV Price and Specs

The latest premium guns from overseas come with incredible performance and some seriously high-tech features.

BeingHyundai luxury subsidiary, has revealed prices and details of its GV60 an all-electric compact SUV due in local showrooms this September.

This is the first of three electric cars from the South Korean luxury brand due this year. The rest are G80 electric limousine and GV70 midsize SUV.

Genesis is bringing two variants of the GV60 to Australia, both with all-wheel drive and significant performance.

The regular all-wheel-drive version starts at $103,700 (excluding travel expenses) and is powered by two powerful 234kW and 605Nm electric motors.

This equates to a sizable 77.4 kWh battery that provides a range of 470 km.

The AWD Performance version starts at $110,700 and uses two more powerful electric motors totaling 360kW and 700Nm. These powers rival high-end gasoline engines from brands like Mercedes and BMW.

It has the same size battery and a slightly shorter claimed range of 466 km.

Both have 800 volt high capacity charging capability, allowing them to accept fast charging up to 350 kW.

Genesis claims the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

The GV60 is equipped with a host of high-tech features, such as the “Vehicle to Load” function, which allows you to charge electrical appliances and items such as air conditioning and camping equipment directly from the car.

The GV60, unlike the electric GV70 and G80, is built on a dedicated EV platform, which means there is no petrol version and the car was only designed for zero emission power.

It is built on the same modular platform as Hyundai Ionic 5 as well as Kia EV6 electric vehicles.

This electric platform has a number of advantages, including a more spacious cabin thanks to the absence of any mechanical links between the front and rear, such as the transmission tunnel that normally runs through the center of the car.

Electric motors take up much less space than an internal combustion engine, which allows engineers to push the wheels against the corners of the car, again creating more interior space.

The GV60 has more room between the front and rear wheels than some seven-seater SUVs.

The GV60 comes with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, while the brand gives an eight-year battery warranty.

Genesis also covers the first five years of service and gives owners 10 years of roadside assistance and satellite navigation upgrades.

To make charging more convenient, the company is allowing customers to choose between a free five-year subscription to the Chargefox network or installing a home charger.
