The news came out on Wednesday six Belarusian soldiers who went missing in the Lugansk region at the end of last month after volunteering to fight on the side of Ukraine against Russia. According to reports, at least one of them was killed and another was taken prisoner.

Marchuk, who bore the call sign “Brest”, was a leading figure in the recruitment of about 500 volunteers Belarusian military force.
Brest reportedly suffered serious leg and head injuries while fighting to cover other retreating forces from his regiment.
The whereabouts of the five other Belarusian soldiers involved in the exchange remained unknown until at least one soldier appeared in a video posted Tuesday on a Russian Telegram account.
The report claimed that he was not the only captured soldier.
“Since our soldier is a contract soldiernot a mercenary, he is officially a prisoner of war, ”the Kastus Kalinovsky regiment said in a response message.
The Belarusian news agency reported that the death of at least one and the potential capture of five more soldiers of the regiment is the biggest loss a Belarusian volunteer detachment has suffered in the last war against Russia.
Members of the Kastus Kalinovsky regiment, named after the Belarusian revolutionary who led an uprising against Russian occupation in the 1860s, also fought against Russian forces after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
Fox News was unable to get a comment from the Kastus Kalinowski Regiment.
