Tesla plans to open its Supercharger network for third-party electric vehicles in America in late 2022.

The company has already allowed non-Tesla electric vehicles to use its Supercharger plugs in several European cities.

“Later this year, Tesla will begin production of new supercharger hardware that will enable non-Tesla electric vehicle drivers in North America to use Tesla superchargers,” the post reads. White House stated.

The news was quietly announced at the White House. ‘news bulletin’ published on June 28, and it is not clear if the Biden administration deliberately brought Tesla to the attention of the matter.

Elon MuskTesla’s CEO, has noted several times that he was snubbed by the White House – Tesla was not invited to a summit on the topic last year.

Earlier this year, Musk called President Joe Biden a “wet-sock puppet” for not inviting him to a Rebuild Better government meeting that included the CEOs of General Motors and Ford.

Musk was not included in the White House electric car summit last summer.

The White House also noted that Tesla is hiring more than 1,600 employees at its Giga New York plant in Buffalo, which makes Tesla Solar Roof and Supercharger stations.

“Tesla is expanding manufacturing capacity for AC-to-DC power electronics components, charging cabinets, poles and cables,” the White House added.

Tesla owners have long touted the benefits of the Supercharger network for its reliability and speed, but up until this point, it was exclusive to Tesla.

If you happen to own another company’s electric car, you’re out of luck.

Musk has previously talked about allowing other automakers to use his superchargers.

In 2021, the company started just that, starting in Norway and then expanding to Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Norway, Spain, the UK and more.

Owners of non-Tesla electric vehicles will need the most recent version of the Tesla smartphone app to access the stations. explains on your website.

Drivers will then be asked to “charge their non-Tesla vehicle.”

There are about 48,000 electric vehicle charging stations in the US, according to the US Department of Energy.

Although Tesla recently overthrown as the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, it still makes many more vehicles than any of its US competitors.

To charge the Tesla, the drivers parked and plugged their car into an outlet located at the Supercharger post.

Once connected, the vehicle’s charging port will flash green to indicate that charging has begun.

Drivers can monitor the charging process on the dashboard or in the Tesla app.

The chargers allow Tesla owners to charge their cars up to 80 percent within half an hour.

The firm currently has over 2,500 charging stations with 25,000 blowers worldwide.
