English giant Manchester City have announced that they have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund on the transfer of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.
The 21-year-old rising star of world football has scored 85 goals in 88 games since joining the German club from Salzburg in January 2020.
At his best, he’s almost unstoppable, and his rivalry with Bayern Munich record holder Robert Lewandowski has been lighting up the Bundesliga for the past three seasons.
Manchester City said in a brief statement: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on 1 July 2022.
“The transfer is subject to final agreement between the club and the player,” the statement said.
This comes after reports that Haaland’s €75m breakout clause will come into effect this week, allowing him to say goodbye to the Dortmund fans in the team’s last game of the season, at home to Hertha in Berlin on Saturday.
