Man dies after jumping off Dog River Bridge

MOBILE, Al. (VALAA man died Friday afternoon after jumping off a bridge over the Dog River, according to the mobile police department.

Officers responded at block 6100 on Marina Drive South around 4:20 p.m. regarding an unresponsive adult male found in the water. Upon arrival, they found that the victim had dived into the water. Boatmen pulled him out of the water and hauled him ashore, police said.

According to the police, a medical helicopter delivered the victim to the district hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim.

The police continue to investigate the incident.
