Newly released footage shows a worker stealing a plane from Seattle airport ahead of fatal crash

Recently released surveillance footage shows a ground worker single-handedly stealing a plane from the Seattle, Washington airport before he deliberately crashed it, resulting in his death. Although the incident took place in August 2018, the Port of Seattle only recently provided surveillance footage at the request of the media. The footage shows Richard Russell entering the Seattle-Tacoma airport, where he worked as a ground worker, and passing through security. He then taxied the Bombardier Q400 onto the runway before takeoff. There was no one else on board. Two fighter jets were scrambled into the air to pursue the plane, which crashed on Ketron Island. An FBI investigation concluded that the crash was deliberate and found no evidence of terrorist motives. Credit: Port of Seattle via Storyful
