Dutch protesters ‘strike back’ at ‘madness’

Sky News anchor James Morrow says the Netherlands, in pursuit of its own ‘green dreams’, is now ‘tackling down’ on family farms, with protesters hitting back at ‘insanity’.

“The Netherlands, chasing their green dreams of reducing carbon and now nitrogen emissions, is cracking down on family farms,” Mr Morrow said.

Mr Morrow said this led to nationwide protests and “empty supermarket shelves”.

Farmers in the Netherlands are protesting a new government policy that will see the country cut nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

Mr Morrow said protesters have “responded to this madness”.
