Ivana Trump, first wife of former US President Donald Trump, has died at the age of 73 from a suspected cardiac arrest.

Police sources said she was found at the foot of the stairs in her home at 10 East 64th Street in Manhattan at 12:40 p.m. in New York Post.

Authorities believe she went into cardiac arrest, but the official cause of death has yet to be determined. She was found by the police, who were called to her home for a health check, police said.

Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly stops beating.

“The electrical system of your heart controls the speed and rhythm of your heart. Cardiac arrest is usually caused by an electrical failure in your heart’s electrical system that causes your heart to stop pumping blood.

Some heart diseases and events can lead to cardiac arrest if they cause a life-threatening arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm). Although heart disease is a common cause of many cardiac arrests, it can also be caused by trauma, respiratory (breathing) problems, drowning, electrical shock, or allergic reactions. Sometimes not identifiable cause cardiac arrest.”

“Our mother was an incredible woman – a business strength, world-class athlete, radiant beauty, caring mother and friend,” the Trump family said in a statement.

Ivana Trump survived. She fled communism and embraced this country. She taught her children endurance and resilience, compassion and determination,” the family said.

“She will be greatly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”

This was announced by a source close to Ivanka Trump. Mail the former first daughter is in “shock” because of the death of her mother.

“They were very close,” the source said, adding that Ivana spent her final days with her family in New York.

Former President Trump himself shared the news on his social network Truth Social.

“I am very sad to inform all those who loved her, and there are many of them, that Ivana Trump passed away at her home in New York,” he wrote.

“She was a wonderful, beautiful and amazing woman who lived a wonderful and inspiring life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. She was so proud of them, just as we were all so proud of her. Rest in peace Ivana.”

The couple were married for 15 years from 1977 to 1992.

Ivana was born in the former Czechoslovakia under the communist regime. In the 1970s, Ivana moved to Canada, where she worked as a model for some time.

However, there are several versions of how she and Mr. Trump met. New York Times reports that they were introduced at a “party in Montreal”.

Speaking with TimeTrump said: “My wife was number one in the world. 1 model in Montreal for eight years.”

The publication reports that they got married after dating for nine months before they moved into the Trump residence at the Olympic Towers in New York.

Their marriage fell apart after heavy media speculation about Trump’s affair with actress and model Marla Maples. Although their relationship began when the businessman was still married to Ivana, Ms. Maples has since publicly stated that she would have liked them to wait until their divorce was finalized.

“Do I wish more than anything that we had this relationship after the divorce papers were signed? Absolutely. From the bottom of my heart,” she said on an ABC News podcast. Journey of Faith with Paula Faris.

“How much heartache would have been saved for so many people if I had seen this piece of paper before we intervened?”

In 1993, Ms. Maples gave birth to Mr. Trump’s fourth child, Tiffany Trump. They also got married that same year before divorcing in 1999.

They were known at the time as one of the most prominent high society couples and their breakup was well documented in the media. Ivana received US$14 million ($20.74 million) as a result of the divorce proceedings.

According to Vanity Fairshe also received the couple’s 45-room Greenwich Connecticut mansion, an apartment in Trump Plaza, with an agreement that Mr. Trump would pay $650,000 ($963,000) each year to support their three children.

According to a 2017 CBS interview with Jim Axelrod, Ivana admitted that her ex-husband still plays a big role in her life. She said the couple talked to each other “maybe once a week.”

“He asks me for advice. He asks me, “Should I tweet, shouldn’t I tweet?” I said, “I think you should tweet.”

After Mr. Trump, Ivana married twice more. In 1995, she married Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli, after which they divorced in 1997.

She then married model Rossano Rubicondi in 2008 before they divorced in 2009. They continued to see each other for ten years.

In 2021, Mr. Rubicondi died after battling skin cancer.

Speaking with Page six in 2019, Ms. Trump said “the split was amicable.”

“Rossano spends a lot of time in Italy and I spend a lot of time in New York, Miami and Saint Tropez and he has to work,” she said.

“Long distance relationships don’t really work. We had a good time and are friends.”

Since 1997, she also dated the Italian aristocrat Count Roffredo Gaetani del L’Aquila d’Aragona Lovatelli. The couple were believed to have been together until he died in a car accident in 2005.
