The director of the cult film criticized Disney for the “shameless” theft of baby Yoda

Little Star “The Mandalorian“Made the Disney+ show a worldwide hit. But Joe Dante, director of the 1984 hit “gremlinsSaid the character’s appearance was “shamelessly” taken from his iconic character.

“I think the longevity (of the films) is really the key to this character (Gizmo), who is basically like a child.” Dante told the San Francisco Chronicle.. “Which, of course, brings me to the topic of Baby Yoda, which is completely stolen and just completely copied. Shamelessly, I’d think.”

Grog didn’t always look quite the way today’s viewers know him. Director Jon Favreau, the creator of the series, recently shared various concepts for the character and the thought process that went into it.
