The launch comes against the backdrop of a plethora of international beauty brands such as Canada’s Ordinary also enters the domestic market in partnership with Nykaa.
Founded in October 2021, Indie Wild first launched in the US and Canada, then in the UK. The company recently raised $3 million led by SoGal Ventures and is valued at $30 million.
“We sold about $500,000 in the first quarter. It has since stabilized,” Khosla told ET. “We expect India to be one of our biggest markets.”
According to her, India is one of the markets that the brand believes in because there is a lot of potential for cosmetics buyers, which has changed a lot over the past few years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Khosla said the brand has no immediate plans to expand beyond Nykaa.

“In the future, we are open to expanding partnerships with retailers, as well as opening our own stores…,” she said.
Inde Wild will have six full-time employees in India.
