Professor sues University of Washington over land recognition dispute

A University of Washington computer science professor is suing the school alleging a “violation of its First Amendment rights” in a dispute over a land recognition claim, Sky News anchor Daisy Cousins says.

Ms. Cousins said Professor Stuart Reges “seems to be punished for his version of the university’s claim that the campus is located on Native American land.”

“He said that according to Locke’s theory of land ownership, that whoever improves the land owns it, Native Americans practically don’t own the land they talk about,” Ms. Cousins said.
