St. Andrews, Scotland – Rory McIlroy and Victor Hovland grappled together with four shots to take first place on the British Open leaderboard after beating St. Louis. Andrews with a corresponding third-round 66 on Saturday.
Norway’s Hovland got off to a fast start with four consecutive birds from third before Northern Ireland’s McIlroy chipped out of the bunker on the green, hit the 10th hole and took the lead with a birdie on the 14th.
