Pike County drug deal ends in shootout, one teen dies

ATLANTA, Georgia. (CBS46) – Power in Pike County are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman wanted for murder.

According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, at 10 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to shoot outside a house at 214 Patton Road.

When the deputies arrived there, they found 19-year-old James Knight, who had died from a gunshot wound.

According to the sheriff’s office, the initial investigation found that the shooting occurred during an illegal drug deal.

Investigators have identified one suspect, and work is underway to identify the second.

A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said the act was not a random act of violence as the suspects were targeted by Knight.

An arrest warrant for 18-year-old Jayden Chappell was obtained from Griffin.
