American right-back Shaq Moore was acquired by Nashville Major League Soccer on Tuesday and agreed to a contract until the 2025 season.
Nashville acquired the 25-year-old’s MLS rights from Montreal for $50,000 in community money. The deal includes an option for 2026.
Moore spent the last three seasons in Tenerife in the Spanish second division. A native of Powder Springs, Georgia.he went to the IMG Academy and signed with Spanish Huracán, then a second division side, ahead of the 2015/16 season.
He moved to another second tier team, Oviedo, for the second half of the 2015–2016 season, and then to the third tier Levante reserve team for the 2016–17 season.
Moore made his senior debut for Levante in the Copa del Rey in October. September 26, 2017 in Girona, and three days later he made his debut in La Liga at Eibar. He was loaned to Second Division Reus for the 2018–19 season and was among the players who left the team in December 2018 when they were not paid their wages.
He signed with Tenerife in July 2019.
Moore scored one goal in 15 matches for the US national team in a 1-0 draw. defeat Canada at last year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. He appeared in four of the 14 World Cup qualifiers.
