Esports Tournament Platforms: Repeat gg

Sony has acquired esports tournament platform Repeat.gg. With this acquisition, Sony hopes to strengthen PlayStation’s influence in the competitive esports industry and provide its specialized customer base with access to “more resources, games and technology.” The brand also recently acquired stakes in EVO, the world’s largest fighting game tournament, back in 2021.

Sony says that while the deal will primarily focus on the PlayStation platform, the Repeat.gg platform will also continue to support tournaments and gaming competitions for other platforms, including PC, mobile and other consoles.

“Together with the talented team at Repeat.gg, we are excited to explore new ways for players to participate in competitive gaming and expand the range of our esports offerings,” said Steven Roberts of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “This is just the beginning of our journey, and we look forward to sharing more news with our community in the future.”
