Sebastian Aller: Borussia Dortmund striker out after testicular tumor

AT statementDortmund said the 28-year-old fell ill during a training camp in Switzerland on Monday and underwent a series of medical checks.

Now he has returned to Germany, where he will undergo additional tests in a specialized medical institution in the coming days.

“Today’s news came as a shock to Sebastian Haller and everyone else,” said Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

“The whole BVB family hopes that Sebastian makes a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon.

“We will do everything in our power to provide him with the best possible treatment.”

Haller, who has yet to comment publicly, only joined Dortmund earlier this month after an impressive performance at Dutch giants Ajax.

The Ivory Coast international scored 47 goals in 66 games for his former club in 18 months, 11 of which came in the Champions League.

Dortmund asked that Haller’s privacy be respected and said he would provide an update when more information was available.
