VIDEO: Restless Putin waited for Erdogan before negotiations

Russian President Vladimir Putin had to awkwardly wait and fidget ahead of talks in Tehran by his Turkish counterpart, Tayyip Erdogan.

Clasping his hands, twitching his mouth and shifting his posture, the Russian leader had to wait 50 seconds before Erdogan appeared.

The meeting in Iran was Putin’s first meeting with the leader of the NATO alliance since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in late February.

Media reports have compared the incident to other times Putin has let world leaders cool off in the past, most notably in Moscow in 2020 when Erdogan made the Russian leader wait about two minutes before meeting.
