Westport’s famous fork in the road has been stolen

WESTPORT Baseball Hall of Famer Yogi Berra once said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.”

Well, someone took it literally in Westport, and the police aren’t happy about it.

On Tuesday, Westport police said a giant wooden fork at the intersection of two roads in Westport was stolen.

Considered a city landmark, the sculptural fork is located at the actual fork in the road between River Road and Old Harbor Road.

As expected, the Westport police facebook post about the incident caused many jokes in the comments section.

“What fork?!” written by one person.

Another chimed in: “You must be mocking me!”
