Shania Twain reflects on her record-breaking career in new Netflix documentary

Shania Twain looks back on the ups and downs of her astounding, record-breaking career in music through a new documentary.

This week, the country pop legend unveiled the trailer for the hit “Not Just a Girl”. Netflix 26 July. The video begins with a yellow convertible driving down a country road surrounded by snow-capped mountains, presumably in Switzerland, where Twain has lived for many years.

“Taking risks doing things your way can be scary,” she says in voice-over. “You must be brave.”

The rest of the trailer consists of archival footage, namely Twain’s concert tours and iconic music videos such as “Man! I feel like a woman” and “That doesn’t impress me much.” It also features accolades from a host of other stars, including Avril Lavigne, Orville pecks and Lionel Richie, among others.

Fans can also catch a glimpse Taylor Swiftwhose tik tak praising Twain appears at the end of the clip.

Directed by Joss Crowley, Not Just a Girl doesn’t shy away from Twain’s personal life.

trailer touches her 1993 marriage to producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, with whom she worked on several hit albums such as her 1997 opus:Let’s. ” Pair divorced in 2010 after it was revealed that Lange was having an affair with Twain’s best friend, Marie-Anne Thibault.

“It was as hard as losing your parents,” Twain says of the painful breakup. “I thought I lost my voice forever. I thought that was it.” A year after the divorce Twain married Frédéric Thiebaud, ex-husband of Marie Anne.

Five-time Grammy winner scheduled will release the accompanying album “Not Just a Girl (The Highlights)” next week in conjunction with the film’s release. She will return to the concert stage in August. 7 as part Shoes and Hearts Toronto music Festival.
