‘Years of inaction’ on climate change last time Greens voted against Labour’s emissions target

Environment Minister Tanja Pliebersek says the last time the Greens voted with the Liberals against Labour’s emissions-cutting goal, we saw “years of inaction” and “a continued rise in carbon pollution.”

The Albanian government is expected to present its climate bill in the first week of parliament to approve a 43% emission reduction target.

Greens leader Adam Bandt indicated that his party would be ready to support the goal, but the government needed to “finish it”.

“They need to make a decision,” Pliebersek told Sky News Australia.

“Whether they want progress or want to be on the path of progress again.”
