Deadly floods inundate city in southern Iran

At least 22 people have died in flooding in the southern Iranian city of Estaban, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) reported July 24. Among the dead was a three-year-old boy, according to IRCS. According to IRCS, efforts are underway to find the missing one and a half year old girl. Provincial Fars Red Crescent Managing Director Hossein Darvishi said: “Red Crescent people saved 74 people from the flood. Two people are still missing.” Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi visited the flood-hit area, IRCS said in a statement.
