The National Football League has its own streaming service.

The premiere will take place on Monday. The NFL is launching NFL+ for $4.99/month or $39.99/year.

The subscription will include all of the out-of-stock preseason games that were previously only available with an NFL Game Pass subscription for $99.99 per year. The NFL preseason kicks off in August. 4, where the Jacksonville Jaguars faced the Las Vegas Raiders. Because this will be a nationally televised game, it will not be shown in NFL+.

NFL+ will also include direct mobile access to local and prime-time regular and post-season games. previously available for free on the Yahoo Sports app.

NFL+ marks the first time the NFL has launched its own streaming service, giving the league a new platform of the future for potentially showing exclusive games.. Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association are already selling subscriptions to their own streaming services that include games not on the market.

Initially, NFL+ won’t include exclusive regular season games, but that may ultimately depend on how viewership habits change in the coming years, said Hans Schroeder, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NFL Media. The league has blocked its local broadcasting rights for the next 7–11 years..

“This is another option that we will consider along with all of our other options,” Schroeder said. “We are very excited about where NFL+ can go. As the media and the sporting goods distribution business continue to change and evolve, there are many different factors.”

NFL is in the process of renewing its Sunday Ticket package and will choose a streaming partner by fall, possibly Apple or Amazon. This package costs about $300 per year and offers access to all off-market games on Sundays. DirecTV has held the rights to the Sunday Ticket since 1994 but will not bid after the current contract expires this season. The length of the new Sunday Ticket deal is yet to be determined, but the league wants to give the new partner “the right runway to succeed,” Schroeder said in an interview.

Additional benefits of NFL+

In addition to games, NFL+ will include NFL Network on-demand shows and NFL Films archive programming.

For $9.99/month or $79.99/year, the NFL also sells NFL+ Premium. This subscription includes full and compressed game replays and access to All 22 Movie, a bird’s eye view of the game that coaches use to see how all 22 players move in a given game.

“We look forward to continuing to grow NFL+ and deepen our relationship with fans of all ages and demographics by providing them with access to a vast array of NFL content, including the most valuable content in the media industry: live NFL games,” said NFL Commissioner Roger. This is stated in Goodell’s statement.
