Digital India: How the digital revolution in India is bringing millions of people together

Seven years ago, only 19% of India’s 1.3 billion people had access to the Internet. Now this figure is almost 60%.

This is all part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious plan to transform India into a trillion dollar digital economy.

BBC correspondent Shruti Menon traveled the country to assess the program’s success and see how it has changed people’s lives.

She also talked about the challenges the government is facing as it continues to connect millions of people.
