Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian urge Instagram to stop copying TikTok

Celebrity sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian lambasted Instagram on Monday, urging the app to stop imitating rival TikTok.

To their hundreds of millions of Instagram followers, Jenner and Kardashian posted a message saying, “Make Instagram Instagram again.”

“Sling, trying to be a tiktok, I just want to see cute pictures of my friends,” the post read.

Mark ZuckerbergCEO or Metawhich owns Facebook and Instagram, promotes short videos, a market that TikTok dominates on mobile devices.

Jenner and Kardashian are very influential on social media. In 2018 Jenner slammed redesign of Instagram competitor Snapchat, leaving the parent company Clickshares fell 7%.

Meta’s stock was virtually unchanged after hours.

Instagram did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
