“Whoever says words that hurt has never been punched in the face,” The Rock said during a Saturday performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden as part of his “Only Headliners Allowed” tour with Kevin Hart. ET reported. The comment was reportedly made during a segment on cancellation culture.
During the Oscars, Smith went on stage and slapped Rock in the face for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.
In a skit about overly sensitive people, Rock reportedly said, “This shit hurts, motherfucker,” but “I’m not a victim.”
“I shook that shit off and went to work the next day,” he said. for Us Weekly.
Immediately after his attack on stage during the Oscars Rock told those present at a show in Boston that he had “nothing to say about it” and that he was “still mulling over what happened”. The Rock also said that he would joke about it when he was ready.
Stone mentioned the incident briefly in May, after a contestant in the Los Angeles show grabbed controversial comedian Dave Chappell on stage.
Was that Will Smith? Rock cracked when he hugged Chappelle after the incident.
Chappelle put on a surprise opening set during the New York Saturday show and also joked about his own attack on stage.
