Former yokozuna Hakuho to lead Miyagino stable

Former yokozuna Hakuho, the most decorated sumo wrestler in history, took over toshiyori The Japan Sumo Association said on Thursday that he has been given the name Miyagino and has moved to a new position as head of the stable.

The 37-year-old, who won a record 45 sumo tournament titles before retiring last fall, took on his oldest sumo name, Magaki, and worked as a coach at the Miyagino stable in Tokyo’s Sumida district.
