Czech Republic Q2 GDP 2022

The economy grew a seasonally adjusted 3.6% year on year in the second quarter after growing 4.9% in the first quarter. The war in Ukraine has put pressure on the economy, affecting supply chains, energy prices and the economic outlook. Meanwhile, issuance increased a seasonally adjusted 0.2% qoq in the second quarter, following a 0.9% rise recorded in the fourth quarter.

Household spending and capital spending contributed positively to year-on-year growth in the second quarter, while domestic demand supported quarter-on-quarter growth. A detailed breakdown is scheduled for August 30th.

Analysts at FocusEconomics forecast GDP growth of 4.6% in 2022, down 0.1 percentage point from last month’s forecast, and 3.6% in 2023.
