Grammy-winning singer Kandy Burruss provided supplies for 500 children.

ATLANTA, Georgia. (CBS46) — Grammy-winning singer and broadcaster Kandi Burruss and her Kandi Cares foundation provided supplies for 500 children in a school supplies raffle at the Jefferson Park Recreation Center in East Point on Saturday.

Kandi Cares has partnered with Goodr, Nouveaux and Garner Trial Attorneys to help families in need in the Atlanta area.

“Single-parent families are an exceptionally vulnerable part of our communities,” Goodr CEO Jasmine Crow said in a statement. “Even two-income households are now struggling to provide for anything beyond basic needs, so activities like this are needed. Goodr is honored to partner with Kandi Cares once again on such a vital initiative.”

The organizations focus on helping with food and school supplies, with a particular focus on single parent families.

“With so much negativity in the world and the cost of living continuing to rise, we are excited to share the positivity and help families in our community who are in desperate need. This initiative will provide single-parent families with everything they need for schooling,” Burruss said.

Burruss is best known for singing in the Atlanta band Xscape and appearing as an actor on the television show The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
