Shawn Mendes cancels tour due to mental health issues

singer Shawn Mendes recently canceled his highly anticipated shows to focus on his health.

The singer-songwriter, who rose to fame when he was still a teenager, recently resumed his live performances after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 23-year-old singer was scheduled to embark on the Wonder World Tour until August 2023 before it was cancelled. Mendes recently released a statement explaining why on his social media channel.

in my blood The singer said he had to postpone shows for the past few weeks as he wasn’t fully prepared for the losses that a return to the road would inflict on him.

He stated, “I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long hiatus due to the pandemic, but the reality is that I was not at all prepared for how difficult the tour would be after this hiatus.

“After talking more with my team and working with an incredible group of medical professionals, it became more clear that I need time that I have never taken in person to ground myself and come back stronger.”

Mendez said that stopping touring “breaks his heart” but “I promise I’ll be back as soon as I find the right time to heal.”
