Uprising can be televised but never rushed, so the first season of Disney+ upcoming series “Andor” will now debut a few weeks after the original release date.
Arrival Sept. Premiering on January 21st in three episodes, the Rogue One prequel series starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor also has a new trailer teasing a lot of action and some familiar faces in the early days of the Rebel Alliance.
Andor takes place over a long period of time between the fall of the Republic and Rogue One. Andor has a clear path forward, with two seasons spanning 12 episodes that tie directly into the 2016 film co-written with Tony. Gilroy, who returns as the series’ creator and showrunner.
The visually stunning trailer, released on Monday, sees Luna at the center of a spy thriller as the Empire takes a firmer grip on the galaxy.
“They are so proud of themselves. So fat and content,” he says in a two-minute video amid flashbacks from his childhood. “They can’t imagine that someone like me would ever get into their house.”
The rebel leader, of course, gets by with the help of a few friends, including those who have returned.star Warsheroes Saw Guerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Republic Senator Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), who we know will ultimately help bring the Empire to its knees.
Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw play all new characters in the series, which is predominantly filmed on location and with practical effects, in contrast to recent Star Wars offerings including Obi-Wan Kenobi and ” Mandalorian.
“I love the whole world,” Luna told Good Morning America on Monday after the trailer was shown. Diversity. “Suddenly I’m like a kid on set because everything is real, everything is there. We do not work with green screens – the material is built. The props work. They make sounds.”
As for his character’s journey, the actor teased that we’re dating the titular spy when he’s “an ordinary guy who suddenly has to be part of something bigger.”
“This is completely unique because we know what Cassian is capable of, but we will meet him when he does not know what he is capable of. “We will meet him when life gets hard,” he added. “This is the beginning of the origins of the revolution, and it is a beautiful story because it reminds us of what we are capable of, what we are. all capable. There are no Jedi around – humans must take control.”
