Basketball legend Lynette Woodard held a free basketball practice

HIVITA, Can. (KWCH) — Basketball legend and Wichita native Lynette Woodard hosted a free basketball practice today for kids ages six to 14.

Woodard played basketball at Wichita North High and is in the Hall of Fame, and the Lynette Woodard Center turned 50 on Saturday.

Woodard said, “It’s wonderful; I know their little young hearts are like sponges. All they need to know is that they need to dream. They need to hear a good story that they can remember. They must remember that they can face any challenge and overcome this difficulty if they are determined and make this design. Threes won’t stop them.

Woodard says he is proud that every child learns to play basketball.
