England manager: Lionesses triumph at Euro 2022 changed society

England changed society with their victory at the European Women’s Championship, coach Sarina Wigman said after leading the Lionesses to their first major title on Sunday and causing scenes of jubilation across the country.

Wigman’s team beat the eight-time German champions 2-1 in extra time at Wembley Stadium in front of a record crowd of 87,912 in a tournament that broke records every week and received heavy European media coverage.
