England beat Germany in Euro 2022 final to claim first major title

An extra-time kick from striker Chloe Kelly gave England a 2-1 victory over Germany in the Women’s European Championship final as England clinched their first major title in front of a record crowd on home soil on Sunday.

Kelly was quick to react to a corner loss in the second period of extra time, giving her team the win and avenging Germany’s loss in the 2009 final in Helsinki.
