SHAKOPEE, Minnesota. — On Sunday, representatives of a different breed went to the races in Canterbury Park.
The annual corgi races always attract a lot of attention, with thousands of fans cheering for their favorites.
A colossal 72 Corgi competed in six tryouts for a chance at the show’s best, but only one – Teddy – managed to come out on top.
“Teddy is quite short, so we thought he had a chance, he is a bit lighter,” said owner Marco Rodriguez.
The Viennese dog race will take place on 14 August. Already competed basset hounds and bulldogs.
The best of each breed will return to the Bark in the Park Championships on September 4th.
