Rescuers helped the horse to get out of the pole

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tennessee. (WSMV) — The Williamson County Rescue Team helped a horse out of a pool Thursday afternoon.

Tennessee Horse Hospital and Williamson County Animal Control responded to calls for help after Tonto’s horse refused to leave his owner’s pool.

WCS officials said Tonto wanted to stay in the pool, making it difficult for lifeguards to get him up the stairs. The owner, rescuers and the TEN doctor gently persuaded him to climb the stairs.

Crews used rubber airbags and wooden supports to help Tonta up the pool steps. When he reached the top, the teams ran a large diameter hose around Tonto’s back to help him up.

Tonto was successfully rescued from the pool with only minor injuries.
