Shota Takeda outplayed Masahiro Tanaka, and the Hawks beat the Eagles

Shota Takeda struck out eight of six-plus innings when he outpointed former New York Yankees player Masahiro Tanaka in the SoftBank Hawks’ 9-1 Pacific League win over the Rakuten Eagles on Saturday.

Takeda (1-0) allowed just three hits and two walks against the Eagles, who only managed to strike out a tie in the fourth inning against him.
