Bubba Wallace earned her first career pole at the Michigan International Speedway.

Bubba Wallace scored his first career pole at Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race in Michigan.

He earned the spot by lapping at 190.703 mph in the final round. Wallace was driver only reach 190 mph in a qualifying session.

“About time,” Wallace said via NASCAR.com. “It took me five years to get my first pole position. This is the evidence of 23XI, everyone on team #23.

“They did a great job throughout the year, actually. We just didn’t get the finish we deserve, but we’re proud that everyone just pulled through. There is a lot of adversity on this team and we keep showing up ready for battle. .”

Wallace earned his first career cup win in October in a rain-shortened race at Talladega.

BUBBA WALLACE ‘R—–‘ on coming in second at the Daytona 500

The 29-year-old has made it into the top 10 three times in a row and is well on his way to fourth place. In his final race at Indianapolis, he started the race in 19th place and finished fifth.

He finished second at the Daytona 500 for the second time.

Christopher Bell will be next to Wallace, with former Cup champions Kyle Bush and Joey Logano behind them.

Wallace is ranked 20th in NASCAR Cup Series rankings, trailing leader Chase Elliott with 363 points.
