Birmingham, England – Jamaican sprint queen Elaine Thompson-Hera took the 200m victory, while Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo won the men’s 5000m and completed a contrasting Commonwealth Games gold double at Alexander Stadium on Saturday.
After taking gold in the 100m on Wednesday, Thompson-Hera once again proved herself with ease, returning home with a Games-record time of 22.02 seconds ahead of Nigeria’s Favor Ofili and Namibia’s Kristin Mboma.
